The protagonist of the story "Sense" is a young man named Arthur. He, like the author, is Kumyk by nationality, so the reader understands that the work will be largely autobiographical.

Arthur lives in Moscow. The main thing that he does is to seek the meaning of his life. His life is very reminiscent of how many people around him live. He studies at the university, in which he is frankly bored, his parents assure that the main thing is to learn how to earn a lot. The life of most of the people around him seems gray and dull to the hero.

At the very beginning, the main character admits that since childhood he dreamed of becoming a great writer, but when he grew up, he realized that writing could not achieve fame. To quickly become famous, it is easier to make some kind of revolution. Then he really begins to think in which country to arrange it. He stops his choice in Turkmenistan. In his imagination, Arthur begins to draw a plan of how he will lead the detachment into battle, as he will enthrall thousands of followers.

True, the matter is not limited to dreams. Arthur begins to really look for people who are ready to follow him to death. He decides to choose between the National Bolshevik Party of Limonov, the Islamic Committee of Heydar Dzhemal and the Youth Union under the name "Hurray!"

Arthur visits each of these organizations, gets acquainted with their supporters, but does not tell anyone about his true plans.

The story earned high marks from many eminent writers. For example, Roman Senchin noted that in this work the desire of the protagonist and the author to live with meaning strongly sounds, this inevitably energizes each reader with energy.

The work became popular not only in Russia, the book was published in the USA. Archa Tate translated it into English. Some of the author’s texts were also published in Chinese and Arabic.
