Have you ever tried cutlets from hercules? Say - this is acceptable only for vegetarians and fasting believers? But I do not agree. (Although certainly for those who fast, this is a great option.)
However, if you have never tried such cutlets before, and you will be given them to taste with your eyes closed, then I think few will guess what they are made of. To taste, and in appearance they resemble meat. And most importantly, the Hercules cutlets are really tasty, you can eat a lot of them to thoroughly get enough. But since they are not much cheaper than meat, it’s not a pity - at least eat a mountain. In addition, this is an excellent budget option for the case when there is no meat at home, and you want something to eat.
Hercules cutlets are prepared very simply - no special skills are required.
Hercules cutlet recipe
Two cups of Hercules will require two eggs, onions, one or two onions (depending on size), a couple of cloves of garlic and a broth cube (with the taste of meat or chicken), flour for breading.
So, in order to prepare the “forcemeat” for such meatballs, boil two glasses of water, add a bouillon cube with the taste that you like best, and pour the hercules into this broth. Cook for five to seven minutes, stirring to get a rather thick porridge. Remove from heat, cool (at this time our porridge is still slightly thickened), while we cut finely onion and garlic. In cooled, you can still warm, but not hot cooked oats, beat eggs, mix, add onions and garlic, add a spoon or two of flour and quite a bit of baking soda, literally on the tip of a knife. Again, mix thoroughly and begin to form small patties, chopping them in flour. If there is cheese at home, then you can put a small piece inside the cutlets, if not, it does not matter, and it will be so delicious. And then fry them in sunflower oil, first from one side to a golden crust, and then, turning over with a spatula, on the other.
Who categorically does not accept bouillon cubes, I can say that even without them it turns out very edible, just do not forget to salt the minced meat before sculpting the cutlets from hercules and add a little black pepper. You can still finely chop the dill and add it to the minced meat.
You don’t even have to cook porridge for minced meat, but steam the oats with boiling water overnight. Even from one glass of Herculean grits, filled with a glass of boiling water, in which the broth cube is dissolved, in the morning you will get quite a lot of base for cutlets, which you can not form, as in the previous case, with your hands. You just do it a little differently - in an oatmeal that has swelled overnight (if the water has not completely absorbed, then squeeze out the excess), beat in an egg, add finely chopped onion, green. For viscosity, add a little flour, and for splendor, baking soda, and spread, like pancakes, a tablespoon in a hot pan. Turn these cutlets from one side to the other as they brown. For me, it’s even better.
I personally love to serve them with sour cream, put a spoonful of sour cream on top of this cutlet - delicious!
But my mom makes herbal cutlets using the slurry that she has left after preparing the infusion for cooking the healing jelly. She cooks it on the basis of Hercules groats. In this case, after the turbid water infusion (the basis for the future kissel) is merged after shaking, the remaining softened pulp should only be washed a little in a colander and, as everything drains, add all the same ingredients. It turns out no less tasty meatballs, only with a small acidity, since kefir was added for souring to obtain a tart infusion.
In general, no matter how you cook these meatballs from Hercules, it always turns out delicious.
Be sure to try to make them according to one of the above recipes - and enjoy your meal!
