Pyramid cake: a simple recipe for cooking

Not a single meal is complete without sweets. Moreover, it is doubly pleasant to treat guests with a homemade dessert. Do you want to present dessert in a new light, surprise your friends or acquaintances? Then make a pyramid cake, known as "Winter Cherry", "Monastery hut", "Cherry under the snow." Its peculiarity is that outwardly you cannot call it too remarkable, but the slice of the cake gives a beautiful picture that attracts attention. And, as you know, serving a meal is of no small importance in terms of nutrition.

It is not difficult to prepare such a variant of the cake, but you will have to spend a lot of time on the process itself.

What will be needed for cooking

To prepare a cake for this recipe, you will need three groups of ingredients: for dough, for filling, for decoration.

To prepare the dough for tubules, take:

  • 400 grams of wheat flour;
  • 200 grams of butter or margarine;
  • 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar;
  • 100 grams of sour cream;
  • 1 chicken egg;
  • 0.5 teaspoon of baking powder.

The filling is made from seedless cherries frozen or canned in their own juice. For this you will need 500-600 grams of fruit.

The cream is prepared on the basis of sour cream 20-30% fat. To prepare the cream, prepare:

  • 700 grams of sour cream;
  • 5 tablespoons of sugar or powdered sugar;
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar;
  • thickener for sour cream (if necessary).

Decorate the cake with chocolate chips, for which you need only 30 grams of chocolate, and fresh mint.

Cake dough with cherry

Prepare the dough for the tubes in this way:

  1. The sifted flour, powder / sugar and baking powder are mixed.
  2. Butter / margarine is cut into small cubes, added to the flour mixture.
  3. All grind to the formation of small crumbs.
  4. Then add sour cream and an egg.
  5. Knead the dough.
  6. Roll a ball out of it.

The finished dough is divided into 2-3 equal parts, each is kneaded into a cake, placed in a bag and put in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Stuffing and Baking

After the dough is ready and cooled, cherries are prepared for the filling: the cherries are thrown onto a sieve, and if desired, sprinkled with sugar.

Now you can prepare the tubes for the base of the pyramid cake.

Taking one part of the dough from the refrigerator, roll it out with a thickness of 1-2 mm. The resulting cake is cut to form a rectangle. The resulting dough sheet is cut into thin strips about 25 cm long and about 5 cm wide.

Cherries are placed on the tube blanks in the middle, and the edges of the tube are pulled and pinched, thereby forming a tube.

Tubes with cherries inside spread on a baking sheet covered with parchment and bake at a temperature of 190 about 10-15 minutes.

The cooled tubes are removed from the pan and transferred to the work board.

Preparation of cake cream

The cream is prepared in this way:

  1. Powdered sugar and vanilla sugar are added to the sour cream.
  2. Beat until smooth.
  3. A thickener is added to obtain a cream with a thicker consistency.

Sour cream, by the way, can be replaced with cream.

How to assemble a cake from straws

To form a pyramid cake, you need 21 ready-made baked straws. We spread the shape of the cake on the dish, covering it with a layer of cream. So the cake will hold out better, and for this you need only 1 tablespoon of cream.

The first layer consists of six tubes with cherries inside. The edges of the tubes should be trimmed so that the cake has a neat shape. On top, everyone is smeared with sour cream and then a pyramid cake is collected according to type 6-5-4-3-2-1. Do not forget to coat each layer of tubules well with a cream, evenly distributing it over the surface.

The finished pyramid from the tubes, covered with cream on all sides, is sprinkled with grated chocolate and decorated with mint leaves.

Homemade cake is additionally decorated with mint leaves. The finished product is placed in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours, so that it is well saturated with cream.
