Birth Control Pills Regulon

"Regulon" birth control pills are a monophasic contraceptive. The medication is intended for oral administration. Birth control pills "Regulon" affect the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian system. In this case, the secretion of gonadotropic hormones is inhibited.

Structure

Regulon contains a combination of ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel. Auxiliary components of the preparation: α - tocopherol, anhydrous colloidal silicon, povidone, magnesium stearate, stearic acid, lactose monohydrate, potato starch. The shell consists of a combination of hypromellose, propylene glycol and macrogol 6000.

Desogestrel is a synthetic progestogen. When it is ingested, the synthesis of FSH and LH is inhibited in the pituitary gland, which prevents follicular maturation. Thus, the component blocks ovulation. Desogestrel has antiestrogenic and minor anabolic (androgenic) effects. The component does not have an estrogenic effect.

Ethinyl estradiol is a synthetic analogue of estradiol (follicular hormone). This component is involved in the formation of the menstruation cycle. Ethinyl estradiol prevents the maturation of a fertile egg.

Birth control pills "Regulon" have a contraceptive effect, due, on the one hand, to a decrease in susceptibility to the blastocyte in the endometrium, accompanied by an increase in mucous viscosity in the cervix, which impedes the progress of spermatozoa.

The drug has a beneficial effect on lipid metabolism . This increases the plasma content of HDL, without affecting the content of LDL.

"Regulon" birth control pills contribute to a significant reduction in menstrual blood loss. With regular medication, the menstrual cycle normalizes, and the risk of developing individual gynecological diseases, including cancer, is reduced.

A beneficial effect on the skin is also noted.

The medication is prescribed one tablet per day. The start of reception coincides with the first day of the cycle. Duration of admission is twenty one days. Then follows a seven-day break. Menstrual bleeding occurs during this week. Further, the drug is resumed. If you follow the instructions, the contraceptive effect persists throughout the seven-day break.

In the case of taking the medication from the second to fifth day of the cycle, it is necessary to use additional contraceptive methods during the first week. It is not recommended to use the medicine in a later period from the beginning of menstruation. In this case, you should postpone taking the tablets until the start of the next cycle.

It is allowed to prescribe the drug to non-lactating women after childbirth after twenty-one days. In this case, there is no need for additional methods of contraception.

During lactation, the drug "Regulon" is not recommended to be taken, in order to prevent a decrease in milk secretion.

After an abortion, medication is recommended immediately after surgery. In this case, there is no need to use additional contraceptives.

In the event of severe headaches or an increase in migraines, in cases of decreased vision, with suspicion of thrombosis or myocardial infarction, a sharp increase in blood pressure, the development of pregnancy, and also four weeks before the prescribed surgery, you should stop taking birth control pills "Regulon".

Reviews about the use of this contraceptive in most cases are positive. However, before use, it is necessary to carefully study the side effects of the medication, as well as all contraindications, and consult a doctor.
