His first appearance took place in the arch of the 1st season “Van Peace” - “Thriller Bark”. In this storyline, he played the role of the main antagonist opposing the Straw Hats team. Using the abilities of the fruit Kage Kage no Mi, he stole the shadow of an ancient swordsman, who in the future became a member of the Straw Hats.
The next appearance of Gekko Moriah took place at the Battle of Marineford, where he could not meet the expectations of his curators and was deprived of the title of Shichibukai. For this, he was assigned the death penalty, whose executor was named Don Quixote Doflamingo. He managed to escape, after which the whereabouts of the hero was hidden.

Gekko Moriya is the owner of the highest growth among all Shichibukaev. With a growth of 7 meters, its neck occupies about 1/7 of the part. Along with this, Moria can observe an extremely complete body resembling a ball or oval.
Style
He wears clothes in the old Gothic style, using a black coat, leather pants and boots in his image. There are thorns on the collar, and the throat is sewn with thick ropes. Some fans associate his appearance with a gecko and leek. The character has sharp facial features and teeth similar to a saw blade or razor. Two small horns protrude from Moria's forehead, and the ears are pointed in shape. The skin of the leader of the Thriller Bark is gray, dark with a bluish tint. The hair in the manga has a bright red color, although in the anime they were shown in purple.

The character has all the features inherent in the classic villain from the anime. He is quite calm and pragmatic, which sometimes creates the impression of laziness. In a conversation, he acts as if confident in his invincibility. Despite its extremely acrimonious nature, it has principles. The hero is sure that the pirate should not be afraid of anything, including death. In his youth, he even dreamed of becoming the Pirate King, but suffered a crushing defeat in the New World. Pirates are rarely painted without a characteristic malicious smile. Even at the moment when the defeat is close, he continues to be confident in his victory.
Moriah does not like to participate in battles, acting as a puppeteer. He directs to the battle with the enemies of the wards, or uses the power of his fruit. Because of this, it has weak physical parameters, even despite the characteristics of its body.
