A bump in the anus is most often a sign of hemorrhoids. What he really is? This is an increase and prolapse of venous nodes located in the rectum. Such nodes are in the body of any person, their main task is to keep feces, during defecation they are smoothed, ensuring normal bowel movement. But stagnation of venous blood and constipation can disrupt the state of the nodes, then they begin to slide down together with the rectal mucosa, closer to the anus. All this contributes to the violation of blood supply, a lump is formed in the anus, which gradually increases and can bulge out.
Hemorrhoids develop gradually, often a person does not even suspect what is happening in his body. The disease can occur due to the influence of factors such as constipation, a laborious process of childbirth, weight lifting.
Itβs not customary to talk about this disease, people are simply embarrassed, but according to recent data, almost 70% of people sooner or later observe the symptoms of hemorrhoids.
Who is affected?
- basically a bump in the anus appears in those people who lead a sedentary lifestyle. This is especially true for those who spend a lot of time at the computer or at the wheel;
- people with regular stool disorders and constipation;
- those who are addicted to alcohol;
- obese;
- Athletes involved in heavy sports: shot put, lifting the bar;
- workers in hard work associated with heavy physical exertion;
- one who consumes a lot of salty, smoked, spicy and just does not care about proper nutrition;
- a bump in the anus may occur as a result of regular anal sex.
Symptoms of hemorrhoids:
- initially, bleeding may occur with bowel movement, blood may be present in the feces. This is due to the fact that the movement of feces is difficult, it becomes hard and presses on the venous walls, which do not withstand pressure and burst, while blood secretions are not necessarily present during bowel movements, bleeding is possible before it;
- a foreign body sensation that causes a bump in the anus;
- prolapse of nodes out of the anus. This occurs as a result of strong and prolonged straining or prolonged sitting on the toilet;
- itching and burning in the anus. These symptoms appear with the development of erosion on the nodes;
- severe pain arising from bowel movements, sitting or walking. The bump in the anus and its pinching cause severe pain;
- soreness of the nodes. If, when touching the nodes, painful sensations and the formation of a dark burgundy color arise, then this is already a sign of thrombosis.
This disease is quite serious, so self-medication is not recommended. If a lump has formed on the anus and other characteristic signs of hemorrhoids have appeared, it means that you need to contact a proctologist for the appointment of treatment.
Treatment can be medication and surgical. Surgically, the nodes are removed if they are greatly enlarged, fall out, and bleeding occurs regularly, a person suffers very much, such nodes represent a very unpleasant picture and even walking becomes painful.
Drug treatment is prescribed depending on the stage of the disease. It runs comprehensively and includes laxatives to simplify bowel movements, a doctor can prescribe various drugs in the form of ointments or copresses, and a special diet will also be recommended. The main thing is not to start hemorrhoids and seek medical help on time. Treatment is most often successful.
