Of all the turtles, Donnie is the largest pacifist, which is probably why the creators of the comic equipped him with such weapons, which are practically unable to kill.

Donatello's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle was created by Peter Laird in the late 80s. Subsequently, Donnie became a favorite character not only of Laird, but also of all American teenagers. That's because the hero combined the properties of almost a superman: he was very smart, versed in computer technology, and he decided to use force only in extreme cases.
Donatello also has nicknames: Wunderkind, Techno-Turtle and Don-san.
Character
Donatello's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is distinguished from his brethren by outstanding mental abilities. He constantly delves into some devices, and often uses scientific words in everyday life.
Donatello is more immersed in the world of science and technology than in reality. Therefore, he does not defend the right to leadership in the team, but simply follows the majority. However, this does not prevent him from boasting at some moments of his mental superiority. He likes the fact that in many emergency situations it is his head that saves the ninja turtles.
At the same time, Donatello is not without a sense of humor, so his wide knowledge does not turn the turtle into a bore. Often, Donnie demonstrates reliability, which is often used by his brothers. This is especially true for Mikey, with whom Donnie communicates most often. Donatello even made a promise to Leo to follow his brother, because he constantly gets into ridiculous situations.
All ninjas live in almost the same room in the sewer. But Donatello manages to somehow limit personal space even in this situation. A turtle in a purple bandage constantly delves into various devices or programs something, so it is more comfortable for him to remain alone. But Donatello with pleasure then demonstrates to the brothers his developments.

In the animated series, which was shown in 1987, Donnie was assigned the leading role in the team. He takes responsibility for the success of the operations on himself and suffers first if something goes wrong. The brothers listen to his opinion and are proud of the child prodigy.
In the animated cartoon of 2003, the turtle in the purple bandage has an incredibly calm character. In 2012, the creators of the cartoon prescribed such a plot move, according to which Donnie secretly falls in love with April journalist. And also at this turtle there is a branched chink in teeth.

In the films, the directors try to present Donatello as a wit and, if possible, combine it into a comic duet with the indefatigable Mikey. Donnie turns out to be the friendliest of the four: he has a wonderful relationship with almost all the positive characters, including April O'Neill and Sensei Splinter.
The first film, which was shot in 1990 on the basis of the Mirage Studios comics, is Ninja Turtles. In this film, reptile ninjas teamed up with April journalist and Avenger Casey Jones to defeat Shredder. The picture was successful, so in 1991 it was decided to shoot a sequel in which Donatello and his friends again resume their fight with Schröder, that he planned to create his own army of mutants.
Donatello also appeared in the paintings of 1993, 2007 and 2014. His character and image in various film adaptations did not change much. But in the picture of 2014 in the appearance of Donnie appeared a lot of funny details. The creators decided to emphasize the sphere of interests of the turtle, so in the frame it is constantly hung with some technical devices, and the Donatello stick has the ability to transform.
