The medicine "Berlition" is considered quite effective (according to patient reviews), a means of regulating metabolic processes. The medication is often prescribed in courses in combination with vitamin B1.
The drug "Berlition" has an antioxidant effect. It regulates lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, is a hepatoprotector. The active component is thioctic (alpha-lipoic) acid.
After oral administration (inside), the active substance is rapidly absorbed from the digestive tract. Excretion is carried out in the form of decay products and unchanged with urine.
Means "Berlition" recommends the use of the drug for diabetic and alcohol polyneuropathy
The recommended dosage for adults inside is from three hundred to six hundred milligrams. You can take it in one or two doses.
In severe polyneuropathy, treatment begins with intravenous injection of the drug “Berlition”. The dosage in this case is twelve to twenty-four milliliters per day. The duration of treatment is from two to four weeks. Subsequent therapy is carried out using a tablet form. The dosage is 300 mg once a day.
With intramuscular injection, the dosage at one injection site should not be more than fifty milligrams (two milliliters). If it is necessary to use high doses of Berlition, the instructions for use recommend that the amount be distributed over several administrations (two milliliters per injection site).
A medication can cause various negative manifestations. Among the adverse reactions from taking Berlition, the instructions for use note the development of a feeling of heaviness in the head, difficulty breathing. As a rule, these reactions are the result of rapid intravenous administration. As practice shows, these manifestations are eliminated independently.
In some cases, convulsions and diplopia, thrombocytopathy, and hypoglycemia were noted after injection into a vein. As local manifestations, Berlition can cause eczema or hives. In rare cases, systemic reactions were noted ( including anaphylactic shock ).
By contraindications to the appointment of the medication "Berlition", the instructions for use include hypersensitivity.
Due to the lack of information on the effectiveness and safety of the use of the product by pregnant and lactating women, as well as children, it is not assigned to these categories of patients.
As clinical studies show, the active substance of the drug “Berlition” - thioctic acid - is a highly effective remedy for cardiovascular manifestations of diabetic polyneuropathy for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The therapeutic efficacy of a drug in this category of patients may be due to the ability of the active component to act on the nervous autonomic system, by increasing, in particular, the wave propagation velocity in visceral sympathetic and parasympathetic fibers.
Clinical practice does not describe cases of overdose with Berlition.
Interaction with other medicines.
It has been established that alpha-lipoic (thioctic) acid reacts with complexes including metal ions (with Cisplatin, for example). In this regard, while taking the drug “Berlition” with the medication “Cisplastine”, the effect of the former may weaken.
The component ethanol and its decomposition products, when combined, can also reduce the effectiveness of thioctic acid.
Before using the Berlition, you should carefully study the annotation.
