Each person may have a need for first aid and dressing on a wound or damaged skin surface. This can be done in old proven ways, or you can use modern tools.
Recently, a number of drugs have been created specifically designed to help in such cases. They not only cover the wound, but also perform some other functions. One of them is Branolind N. Instructions for use this tool is simple.
Description
"Branolind" is an antiseptic ointment dressing that has a wound healing effect. It is used to treat damaged skin. Thanks to the peruvian balm included in the impregnation, it has a wide range of positive effects.
One cardboard package of a medicine contains from ten to thirty dressings in individual bags or is sold as a single-use bag. The dressing is impregnated with an anhydrous ointment, consists of a cotton fabric with large cells, it allows air to pass through and does not keep the wound secret - this is how Branolind describes the application. Indications for its use are quite extensive, so the dimensional grid of dressings consists of two types: 100x200 mm and 75x100 mm.
They do not stick to the wound and its edges, so they do not cause damage to the growing young epithelium. Dressings also prevent the wound from drying out quickly, make it soft, supple and help to prevent the formation of scars.
Pharmacological action and composition "Branolinda"
The dressing contains a special ointment impregnation, which contains 50 mg of the main substance - Peruvian balm. Auxiliary components are petrolatum, mid-level triglycerides, hydrogenated fat, cetomacrogol 1000 and 40-50% glycerol monostearate.
Peruvian balm contains essential oils, and its composition includes esters of cinnamic and benzoic acids. This ingredient is a brownish-red viscous liquid with antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. This also explains the corresponding pronounced effect of the Branolind N dressings. Instructions for use of the drug say that it is an effective means of healing wounds, accelerates the process of tissue regeneration, helps to reduce the risk of scarring and scars in the area of skin lesions.
Branolind is also able to anesthetize for two to three days, depending on the severity of the damage.
Indications
Plastic surgery and dermatology - the main areas where it is used bandage "Branolind". Instructions, use, reviews indicate that this drug is useful in the treatment of:
- lacerated superficial wounds;
- bruises;
- abrasions;
- chemical and thermal burns;
- frostbite;
- purulent abscesses;
- nail removal;
- in the procedure of skin transplantation in order to fix grafts or skin flaps;
- with phimous operations;
- with the general treatment of infected wounds (ulcers of various origins, bedsores and other).
Plaster "Branolind N": instructions for use
For effective use, it is important to apply dressings correctly. The instruction instructs to do this as follows:
- Open the packaging and remove the bag with the dressing. If the wound is smaller than the dressing, then the latter should be cut to the desired parameters that correspond to the damaged area of the skin.
- Remove from the dressing a protective layer of paper on one side and attach it to the wound. Then remove the same layer on the other side. Next, cover everything with an absorbent dressing and gently fix this compress with a bandage or adhesive.
Typically, Branolind dressings are replaced at each dressing, usually daily. The exception is burn skin lesions, in the treatment of which the change is made once every two to three days. The change of the compress is carried out painlessly, because the dressings do not dry out to the wound. If an abundant secretion occurs from the wound, the dressing can be replaced up to three times a day.
If you need a long overlay on the wound surface of an aseptic pad, you can glue a bandage to the wound with resorption of the ointment. In this case, the second Branolind bandage is fixed on top.
Contraindications and side effects
Like any medical device, Branolind N dressings have their own characteristics. Instructions for use prohibit their use if there is a pronounced hypersensitivity or intolerance to the Peruvian balm. The same applies to the remaining constituent ingredients of the ointment mass. In addition, Branolind antiseptic dressings are not used if skin lesions are complicated by a necrotic process.
Possible side effects of dressings include allergic reactions with varying degrees of severity. This is due to the fact that gauze dressings are applied to open wounds and the components of the drug are instantly absorbed into the bloodstream, and therefore, with an allergy, anaphylactic shock can quickly occur.
In other cases, Branolind is well tolerated by patients, but sometimes, as evidenced by the reviews, the following side effects are likely to occur:
- mild burning in the wound area;
- hyperemia of healthy skin;
- symptoms of urticaria.
If at least one of the above phenomena appears or a general deterioration occurs, then you should immediately consult your doctor.
