A world-famous artist from America is Terry Rogers. He became famous for his huge and unusual paintings, painted in oil, which are almost impossible to distinguish from photographs.
short biography
Terry Rogers, whose biography begins in Newark, the big city of New Jersey, where the future artist was born on September 11, 1947, has become one of the most discussed masters of our time. He spent his childhood in another large American city - Washington. He studied and successfully graduated in 1969 with honors from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Amherst College, which is located in Massachusetts.
His passion and genuine interest in the film industry and photography had a huge impact on the style of his work, which can be described as "hyperrealism" - it is so fascinating with its realism.
Currently, Terry Rogers is engaged in the description of modern states with the help of his style of seeing them. The embodiment on the canvases of an imaginary entertaining life is an attempt to convey to the viewer the sheer complexity of the modern world.
Exhibitions and popularity of works
In May 2009, Terry Rogers, a world-renowned artist, opened his first solo exhibition. Prior to that, his work was presented in group exhibitions in 2005 and 2007. To date, Terry Rogers' skillful works have been presented to the public in many large cities in America (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago) and Europe (Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan, Berlin).
Several books have been published about his work, documentaries have been shot, and his paintings are widely discussed on international blogs.
Magic image
When creating his paintings, Terry Rogers does not exclude the use of modern technology. So, initially, even at the stage of formation of the plot, he photographs models, composes a general and interconnected picture from the received images using computer editors, and only at the final stage transfers everything to the canvas with oil.
In his works, Terry Rogers tries to reflect his vision of the meaning of our time - how rich it is in impressions and how difficult it is for most of modern people. His works contain a subtle interweaving of the known and the unknown, alluring and rejecting, fiction and literary fiction and at the same time ordinary, real. They show modern life in this close interweaving of desires, fantasies, economic complexity and interdependence, social and individual isolation, and, most importantly, they reflect hope.
Each of his works has its own specifics - certain parts of the body, expressions and emotions, psychology and ridicule. Any person depicted by the artist has his own philosophy of life, which is conveyed to the public by a gesture, a look, facial expressions. As a rule, people in the pictures do not look directly at the viewer, just as they are not facing each other. Nevertheless, their relationship is clearly present in the image.
Terry Rogers paintings, despite their apparent depravity, draw the viewer into the world of hidden desires, fantasies and stupor.
