Tsefekon: candles for adults

Candles "Cefecon" - for adults, a frequently prescribed drug for various pains, fever, injuries and some inflammatory diseases. It refers to combined NSAIDs (or non - steroidal anti - inflammatory drugs). The use of NSAIDs began in the late 19th century with the use of sodium salicylate in acute rheumatism. And the willow bark used during malaria, as it turned out, contains salicin. Salicylamide, which is part of Cefecone, is nothing but a derivative of salicylic acid. The composition of this drug is supplemented with naproxen and caffeine. Naproxen and salicylamide provide an anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic effect. Caffeine enhances their effect. Absorption of naproxen is associated with food intake, so it is preferable to use "Cefecon" candles. The rectal form reduces the risk of side effects in the gastrointestinal tract, and at the same time the body receives the entire dose of the drug, regardless of the time of eating or taking other drugs. Introduced into the rectum, this NSAID acts faster and more effective than anti-inflammatory drugs with an oral form of administration. The effect is achieved due to the special conditions of absorption. The abundant venous network of this section of the digestive tract allows absorption processes to reach a maximum where large amounts of digestive enzymes do not interfere with it. From the rectum, the incoming substances go further with the flow of blood and lymph. The circulatory system provides rapid exposure. "Cefecon" candles quickly exert their effect, which lasts up to 12 hours.

This drug, like other combined NSAIDs, has been widely used recently. This is explained by the fact that in some cases, by such an appointment, the doctor tries to reduce the dose of narcotic analgesics.

Due to the pronounced anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic activity of "Cefecon" suppositories are often prescribed for:

- fever caused by infectious diseases;

- pains of various types, such as: dental, headache, musculoskeletal, postoperative, neuralgia, dysmenorrhea;

- inflammatory processes in the rectum: hemorrhoids, fissures, proctosigmoiditis;

- rheumatism, trauma, inflammation of the musculoskeletal system.

Application: 1 candle from 1 to 3 times a day. The course is from 3 to 6 days. Method of administration: after a bowel movement or cleansing enema, enter the suppository deep into the anus, then take a horizontal position for 40 minutes.

The drug has its own series of side effects, among which there may be disorders from the hematopoietic system, central nervous system and the cardiovascular system. Allergic and local reactions may also occur. You must also carefully read the list of contraindications. It is not recommended to take "Cefecon" suppositories during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

There is one circumstance that makes us consider the use of Cefecon ambiguous. Drugs that are considered derivatives of salicylic acid, including Cefecone, are banned in some countries, especially for children. But in our country, even children continue to appoint him. Many parents, not having information about the dangers of using this medication, continue to put candles on Cefecon children, rejoicing at its quick effect. However, in children under 15 years of age, in connection with the use of preparations containing acetylsalicylic acid, Reye's syndrome can be provoked . This is a severe form of toxic encephalopathy, which in 50% of cases is fatal. Therefore, for children, paracetamol and its derivatives, as well as ibuprofen, are considered the safest antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug.
