The preparation "Cefabol" is presented as a cephalosporin antibiotic with a large spectrum of beneficial effects and intended for parenteral use. The introduction of this tool has a pronounced bactericidal effect on the patient's body due to a slowdown in the synthesis of the
cell wall of pathogenic microorganisms. At the same time, the action of the cefabol antibiotic (the instructions for use explains this by its composition) is based on a violation of the cross-linking of peptidoglycans and acetylation of membrane-bound transpeptidases, which are necessary to ensure rigidity of the bacterium. As for the main pharmacokinetic characteristics of this drug, after intravenous administration, the highest plasma concentrations begin to be observed after five to six minutes, and after intramuscular administration of a dosage of 1000 mg, after twenty-five to thirty minutes.
The cefabol antibacterial agent is issued (instructions for use are always included in each package) in the form of a white or white-yellow powder, which is intended for the preparation of a solution. The latter is used exclusively for intramuscular or intravenous administration. The composition of this medicine as an active ingredient includes such a substance as cefotaxime sodium.
The manufacturer recommends using the antibiotic in question for the treatment of a large number of infectious diseases. So, for example, to prescribe the drug "Cefabol", the instructions for use advise patients with ventriculitis, meningitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis or otitis media. In addition, as part of complex therapy, this remedy helps well with chronic and acute forms of pyelonephritis and adnexitis, with endometritis and pelvioperitonitis. People with various kinds of postoperative wound complications are also often prescribed the antibiotic "Cefabol". Injections with this medicine are also effective for eliminating infectious diseases of joints and bones, treating cholangitis, peritonitis, cholecystitis and abdominal abscesses.
Direct indications are also endocarditis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, borreliosis, sepsis and salmonellosis. In addition, this drug should be used to eliminate infections that developed against the background of severe immunodeficiency, as well as to prevent the development of obstetric, gynecological, urological and other infections after surgical interventions.
Prescribing this antimicrobial is categorically not recommended for patients with an allergic reaction to lidocaine or carbapenems. In case of individual intolerance to cephalosporins, it is also worth abandoning therapy using the cefabol antibiotic. Reviews of experts also warn about the undesirability of its administration with established enterocolitis or intracardiac blockade. In addition, the list of severe contraindications includes severe form of heart failure, bleeding and age up to 2.5 years.
