In 2010, fans of computer games had a real celebration: blockbusters “Bloodrain 3: The Third Reich” and “Prince of Persia” appeared on the big screens. The actors involved in these projects became part of the computer universe, which was transferred to the frame by directors and scriptwriters. "Prince of Persia" also collected a good box office at the box office. Who starred in this film? And what events revolves around its plot?
The creators of the picture
The Prince of Persia was filmed on an unprecedented scale: actors in stylish and a bit fabulous costumes, scenery for millions of dollars, and the producer of all this action was Jerry Bruckheimer, who once oversaw the projects of Pearl Harbor and Pirates of the Caribbean.
The total budget of the picture was 200 million dollars. The rights to the film adaptation of the computer game of the same name were bought by Walt Disney Pictures. The British was hired as a director by Mike Newell, which, in fact, explains why there are so many English in the cast of the project.
Newell began his career back in the 60s. XX century., Filming television series. In 2005, the director broke into the world of Hollywood cinema, taking up the film adaptation of the book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The last film director’s work dates back to 2012, when he released the historical drama Great Expectations.
Short story
The actors of the film “Prince of Persia” played on the screens a funny story about courage and cowardice, fidelity and betrayal, love and hate. Like a real adventure film, “Prince of Persia” has incorporated many storylines, generously flavored with special effects.
And the story begins with a description of the exploits of the 3 princes - the sons of the Persian king. Young people pressure took the unfaithful city of Alamut, having got the lives of local residents and Princess Tamina. However, after the assault, it turned out that a slander had been erected on the city: local settlers never supplied weapons to the enemies of the Persian king.
During a feast in the castle of Alamut, the Persian ruler Sharaman suddenly dies. By absurd accident, the suspicion of the murder of the king falls on his younger adopted son Dastan. Dastan has to flee the castle with Tamina in order to be able to prove his innocence.
Tamina and Dastan have roughly the same goals - to bring to the clean water the villain who framed them both. However, the Prince of Persia and the Princess of Alamut can not get along with each other. In the final, they still manage to achieve their goal, plus romantic feelings arise between them.

The main character of the film is the young and fearless prince Dastan, a man of noble family, who in childhood was an ordinary street child. However, the Persian king Sharaman fell in love with the boy for his dexterity and courage and adopted into his family as a child.
For many years it never occurred to anyone to mention that Dastan was not a descendant of a noble family: the young prince lived in the palace and went on military campaigns with the two blood sons of the king, as an equal. However, as soon as Sharaman died as a result of the machinations of enemies, Dastan was taken into custody, accused of the death of the king and many other crimes. Dastan escapes from prison and now he faces the difficult task of proving that he is innocent, that he is the true and faithful prince of Persia.
The main actor of the project is, of course, Jake Gyllenhaal. For filming in the picture, he was transformed beyond recognition: he grew long hair, pumped up muscles and mastered the art of fighting on oriental sabers. The actor is widely known: he can be seen in the films "Donnie Darko", "Captives", "Everest" and "Zodiac".

Moreover, the image of Princess Tamina is one of the most striking in the career of Gemma: when viewing it seemed that the actress was simply created for this role.
Her heroine, according to the plot, is the keeper and leader of the city of Alamut. However, after the intrigues arranged by Uncle Dastan Nizam, the Alamuts were captured by the Persians and staged a pogrom there. It so happened that Princess Tamina was forced to join forces with Dastan in the fight against Nizam, who made far-reaching plans for the capture of Persia. In the finals, a couple of colorful heroes manage to defeat the villain.

Ben Kingsley, who played the main antagonist in the Prince of Persia action movie, is not accustomed to the image of a villain: in 2005, an English actor appeared in the movie "Blood Train" in about the same role (the film, by the way, was also shot based on a computer game).
In the project “Prince of Persia”, actors Ben Kingsley and Ronald Pickup played siblings - Nizam and Sharaman. However, Sharaman, by right of seniority, ascended the imperial throne, and Nizam was entrusted with the role of adviser and close associate. The hero Kingsley took advantage of this and killed his brother, quarreled with the princes Dastan, Tas and Garciv, planning to further capture the throne. However, the villain in the finals was exposed by Tamina and Dastan.
