The medicine "Fromilid" has a bactericidal, bacteriostatic, antibacterial property. The active substance is clarithromycin. A tablet of Fromilide 500 contains five hundred milligrams of active substance.

The medication is prescribed for inflammatory, infectious diseases provoked by microbes that are sensitive to clarithromycin.

The indications for the use of the drug "Fromilid" include infectious lesions in the upper respiratory system, in particular otitis media (acute moderate), recurrent sinusitis (acute and chronic course), tonsillopharyngitis. The drug "Fromilid" the instruction recommends for infectious lesions on the skin, in soft tissues, in the lower parts of the respiratory system (with pneumonia, including atypical, chronic bronchitis in the acute phase, as well as in acute bacterial bronchitis). The medicine is prescribed for diseases caused by mycobacteria. As an adjuvant, Fromilide preparation recommends using Helicobacter pylori to eliminate bacteria in the stomach and duodenum to eliminate bacteria of the genus Helicobacter pylori.

The medicine is not prescribed for hepatitis (including in the medical history), hypersensitivity, porphyria, severe liver failure, in the first trimester of pregnant women, during lactation. The drug "Fromilid" the instruction does not recommend to be used simultaneously with such means as "Astemizol", Pimozid "," Tsizaprid "," Terfenadin. Do not prescribe medication in the form of granules for children up to six months, in the form of tablets - up to twelve years.

When using the medication, some negative reactions can be noted. Fromilid can cause hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice, pancreatitis, short discoloration of the tongue or teeth, pseudomembranous colitis. Side effects include glossitis, diarrhea, stomatitis, abdominal pain, and nausea. Taking the drug can cause severe violations of the liver. However, as practice shows, they are reversible. Severe liver failure (usually associated with concomitant treatment or existing serious illnesses) is considered to be an extremely rare negative consequence of the use of the drug Fromilide.

The drug can provoke drowsiness, numbness, vertigo, psychosis, headache, cramps. Dizziness, nightmares, a sense of fear, confusion, insomnia, disorientation, and depersonalization are also noted.

Taking the drug Fromilide can cause thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, tinnitus, shortness of breath, short-term hearing loss (symptoms usually disappear after withdrawal of the drug).

Among the undesirable manifestations, myalgia, arthralgia, ventricular tachycardia should also be distinguished . The drug can cause kidney failure, interstitial nephritis and other disorders in the genitourinary system.

Allergic reactions are considered common when taking "Fromilide". These include angioedema, facial edema , urticaria, Lyell syndrome, pruritus, anaphylactic shock.

The drug "Fromilid" is prescribed inside. Patients from the age of twelve are recommended twice a day for 250 milligrams.

In acute sinusitis, severe infections, five hundred milligrams is prescribed twice a day.

As a rule, the duration of therapy with the drug "Fromilid" is 10 days on average. However, in accordance with the state, the duration of treatment can vary from seven to fourteen days.
