"Monastery hut" - wine of sunny Bulgaria

Wine is the oldest drink on Earth made by man. But the technology of its production has not changed much over these millennia. Not all countries succeeded in making winemaking not only a source of joy and fun for their citizens, but also a line of income in the budget.

Brand History

In Bulgaria, the first distilleries appeared a few millennia BC. Almost exclusively, wine was produced in monastic estates and kept in cool cellars.

The creators pushed off from this fact when they came up with the name guilt - “Monastic hut”.

Further, the Ottoman Empire intervened in the history of winemaking in a sunny country. The Turks knew a lot about profit, and traditions for this reason were not destroyed.

After being liberated in 1879, a resurgent country issued a wine law before the adoption of the new Constitution. In general, wine production in hospitable Bulgaria was primarily regulated by law. Indeed, foreign policy relations depended on the quality of the manufactured product. So, in 1978, the “Wine Law” was developed and implemented, which guaranteed all consumers in the foreign market quality indicators of natural wines.

Favorite wine

Such a reverent attitude to winemaking products, geographical proximity and, in principle, trusting relations between Bulgaria and the USSR made the supplied wine products very popular and demanded by the consumers of our country. And the wine market in the USSR was simply unimaginably large.

As for the wine "Monastic hut", a rare citizen of full age did not know his taste.

Collectible label

Saturated, nourished by the sun of the sunny Bulgarian summer, a little tart, with a slight acidity, it was one of the most popular drinks on holiday tables.

The anti-alcohol law in our country in 1985-1987 violated the bright plans of the fraternal republic. Further worse. The USSR collapsed. Geopolitical space was redrawn. All trade relations had to be recreated again.

Brand rebirth

In the 90s, the Russian market had an uncountable amount of wine with the name “Monastic hut” from at least five producers officially indicated on the label. Moreover, Soviet citizens are accustomed to what is meant by the brand "Monastic hut" red wine. This wine belongs to the category of wines with residual sugar, i.e. semi-sweet and semi-dry. These wines are made from late harvest grapes, when up to 26% of sugar is accumulated in the must.

The brand has enjoyed popularity for many years by unscrupulous manufacturers of wine drinks not only in Russia but also in Moldova. Therefore, for some citizens, the morning after drinking their favorite wine began with a headache.

But, fortunately, in 1998 the Russian company Stara Grad stopped the bacchanalia associated with the Monastyrskaya Izba brand. The company bought the brand itself and the unique technology of distilling this wonderful drink at the Detchinsky winery. This brand is the leading one from the Russian manufacturer.

Classic Wine Bottle Shape

The “monastery hut” on the shelves of specialized retail outlets can be seen not only in red, but also in white, as well as with various taste variations. There is even sparkling wine.

Whenever buying wine, be sure to check the manufacturer. This can affect how good and good evening and next morning are.
