At the end of 2003, the popular Japanese magazine "Senen Jump" blew up a short story about a tutor-killer and a clumsy boy. Readers and authors liked the little comic book to be continued. Now, in addition to full-fledged manga, there is a popular anime, ranobe and games, and the fan base of the Killer Reboorn tutor is still one of the largest in Japan. Behind the creation of this provocative action movie for boys and youths is a fragile girl - the mangaka Amano Akira.
Biography and career start
Amano Akira was born in 1973 in Aiyti Prefecture. She began her mangaki career at 25, in 1998 with the work of Shounen Spin. Then she was an ordinary little author. Akira Amano's manga has been featured in Young Magazine and Bessatsu Young Magazine. In 2002, she stopped publishing regularly to devote herself to Tapir Heart HAWK's new work! for Akamaru SPRING 2003.
Publication in "Weekly Senen Jump"
In 2003, the mangaka decided to participate in the contest of the most famous manga magazine for teenage boys Unique Manga Awards with a 49-page one-shot “Tutor-Killer Reborn” one-shot. The chapter turned out to be very successful, and the magazine management agreed with Amano Akira to create a full-fledged manga series.
"Tutor-killer Reborn"
To date, this project remains the most successful work of Amano Akira. The anime shot on it also resonated in the hearts of fans, especially abroad.
The first chapter was published in 2004 in The Weekly Senen Jump. The project lasted 8 years - until 2012. An anime series was released on it. In 2007, Amano Akira, together with Koyasu Hideki, released several ranobes (Japanese small novels with pictures): a sequel and several spin-offs about manga characters. In 2008, they began to be released in the Senen Jampa subsidiary, Jump SQ Magazine.
Plot
The plot tells of a 14-year-old teenage boy, Savad Tsunaesi, who discovers that he is the heir to the head of the Wongola mafia family. In order to prepare Tsun for his mission, a mentor is attached to him - a little man who looks like a child named Reborn. In the course of the story, the main character will have to solve typical teenage problems, go to school, study with Reborn and confront the mafia escaped from prison who came for him.
In manga and anime, a very powerful comedic component of the story. Due to the contrast of the seriousness of the situation that Tsun fell into, his absurdity and the unusual appearance of Reborn and his assistants, the story is very comical and suitable for children. The tutor constantly teaches the main character, there are a lot of jokes and funny situations that will amuse any teenager.
Other works of Amano Akira
In addition to the works already mentioned, Akira became the author of five more manga stories and three artbooks.
In 1999, she created Neppuu Yakyuu Densetsu Pitchan, in 2000 she wrote Petit Petit Rabbit, which was extended as a series in the magazines Bessatsu Magazine and Young Magazine, and in 2002 - Monkey Business.
After the enormous success of Reborn and its completion at the peak of popularity, the mangaka took up other projects:
- In 2013, she tested herself as a character designer in the anime series in the cyberpunk genre Psycho Passport.
- In the same year, her one-shot Warashibe Tantei Numashirichirou was released.
- In 2013, Amano Akira returned to the creation of multi-part stories and began to release the manga El Drive (elDlive). For the first time it was published in the online division of Jump magazine - Jump live, and later it began to be uploaded in the online edition of Jump +. In January 2017, her project received an anime adaptation, which was released from January to the end of March.

The manga and the series talk about a strange boy named Tyuta who once meets a blue alien. An alien recruits Tyut to the intergalactic police. Together with his classmate, alien and other space police, he works at a station in the solar system and protects the space from troubles and attacks. This manga is designed for an older audience - men and young people from 18 years old. The main feature of El Drive is that it is fully colored.
In addition to the new manga and work on the anime, Akira Amano released three artbooks. It:

The first artbook was released in 2010 and contains many additional materials and pictures on Reborn. Standard format - a5, consists of 192 pages. Among the drawings there are sketches of characters in different clothes, pictures in different styles, including the old author, drafts, storyboards, as well as small comics about the everyday life of the characters of the story.
Artbook saw the light in 2014 and was dedicated not only to "Reborn". On 189 pages are materials on "El Drive", "Psycho-passport" and other mangaka works. In addition to the artwork on the above projects, the book has an interesting series of drawings "24h", which in the pictures tells about the daily routine of the heroes day.

The latest artbook was released on the last day of 2016, contains 192 pages and is dedicated entirely to “Reborn” and “El Drive”. It mainly consists of cards that Amano painted on the heroes' birthdays, sketches about the childhood of the characters, and some additions to the 24h series called 10 Minutes Later.
Akira's contribution to the manga industry has been appreciated. In 2010, she entered the list of 50 best-selling authors and took the 12th line there. One can have a different attitude to her main hit, but it cannot be denied that the "Tutor-killer Reborn" became a cult phenomenon for children and adolescents from 2000-2010.
