Fish casserole with potatoes

Casserole is a universal dish, since it can be prepared from almost any product. There are meat, vegetable, and dessert casseroles, but today we will talk about fish.

There are many options for such a dish, the fish is baked with vegetables, herbs, mushrooms, eggs. But, perhaps, one of the most successful combinations is a fish casserole with potatoes.

This dish can be prepared from almost any fish with a small number of bones, but the easiest way, of course, if you have a ready filet. In addition, we need potatoes, onions, tomatoes, mayonnaise, cheese and vegetable oil. The number of products can be taken at your discretion.

So, we start cooking fish casserole with potatoes. Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into thin "round" ones. Filet is also washed and cut into fairly large pieces. Now we salt the fish, sprinkle with seasonings and put in a greased form.

The next layer of casserole is onion, which must be cut into thin half rings. Lovers can add to the onions and a little grated carrots. Add a little salt and pepper to this layer.

Now spread the salted and seasoned potato wedges. In order for our fish casserole with potatoes to turn out not only tasty, but also beautiful, you should not just pour potato wedges into a mold, but put them with “scales”. Put a little butter on the potatoes, cut into small pieces.

Next, peel the tomatoes and cut them into rings. To easily and easily peel tomatoes, they should be dipped in boiling water for a moment, and then cooled in cold water. After this treatment, the skin is removed instantly.

Grate cheese on a layer of tomatoes, and coat the casserole with mayonnaise on top. Now we put our form in a preheated oven. Forty minutes - and a delicious fish casserole with potatoes is ready.

Of course, the described cooking method is not the only one. You can reduce or add layers to your liking. For example, you can exclude tomatoes from the recipe, and add fried mushrooms.

And if a casserole with fish and potatoes is prepared for children, then you can use the following recipe.

Peel five to seven potatoes and set them to cook. In the meantime, prepare the fish fillet, rinse it well and cut it into small pieces. In that case, if the child is still very small, then the fillet should be chopped with a blender.

From the cooked potatoes, prepare mashed potatoes with the addition of butter. Grate one small carrot on a grater, and finely chop the greens. Now we take a greased form and put mashed potatoes in it, then salted fish fillet. Cover with a layer of carrots and greens.

Beat two eggs with the addition of one hundred grams of sour cream and fill our casserole with this mixture. Cook in the oven for half an hour. It is noticed that even those children who do not really like fish eat such a casserole with pleasure.

And here is how a grated potato gratin with minced fish can be cooked. Take four large potatoes, peel them and rub them raw on a fine grater. If a lot of juice is released, then it should be drained. Now add a little hot milk, salt and any seasonings to the potato mass. Half of the prepared mass is laid out in a greased form.

To prepare this casserole, you can buy ready-made minced fish or make it at home by chopping fish fillet and onions in a blender. Minced fish should also be salted and seasoned to taste. We spread it on a layer of potatoes, and on top we distribute the remaining potato mass.

Now generously coat the top layer with salted sour cream and send our mold to the oven. We bake at one hundred eighty degrees twenty minutes, then switch the temperature control to the mark “one hundred fifty” and continue to cook the dish for about twenty-five minutes. Our casserole is ready when it is covered with a golden crust.
