The drug "Falimint" refers to medicines that have antitussive, antiseptic and local anesthetic properties.
The main component of this drug is acetylaminonitropropoxybenzene. The drug "Falimint", the instructions for use of which introduces us to this drug, is produced by the pharmacological industry in the form of dragees. Each of them contains twenty-five milligrams of the active substance. Additionally, the dosage form includes gelatin, hard fat, sucrose, colloidal silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate.
One blister pack consists of twenty tablets of the drug. The color of the drug is uniform, white. Dragees have a round, biconvex shape. They are smooth to the touch, consisting of a shell containing glucose syrup, talc, sucrose, liquid and hard paraffin, and simethicone emulsion.
Means "Falimint", the instructions for use of which acquaints us with the main pharmacological action of the drug, has the ability to influence the mucous membrane as a local anesthetic. This effect eliminates the reflex of irritated cough receptors of the pharynx and larynx. In addition, the medication is able to have an analgesic effect on the upper respiratory tract. Due to the refreshing and cooling ability when absorbed, the drug does not dry and does not cause numbness of the mucous membranes located in the oral cavity. These qualities are similar to the properties of menthol, but their manifestation is most pronounced.
The drug "Falimint", the instructions for use of which give basic recommendations for the use of the drug, is prescribed for tonsillitis, laryngitis and pharyngitis, that is, diseases caused by inflammatory processes of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract.
The scope of this drug also covers ailments that are caused by pathological processes in the oral cavity. These include stomatitis and gingivitis. The medication will also help get rid of a tormenting dry cough caused by inflammation in the upper respiratory tract. Taking the drug is prescribed as a preparatory tool before taking casts and trying on dentures, as well as before an instrumental examination of the oral cavity and pharynx (to reduce the vomiting reflex).
The drug "Falimint", the instructions for use of which describes the method of using the medication, is intended for complete resorption in the oral cavity. The dosage of the drug should not exceed ten tablets per day.
It is recommended to use it three to five times a day. A single dose is one or two tablets. The course of treatment should not exceed several days. Getting on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and pharynx, the drug is able to have an effect aimed at suppressing the vital activity of pathogenic microbes, as well as reduce pain. The medicine reduces the gag reflex caused by irritation of the pharynx and tongue.
Falimint during pregnancy, as well as during breastfeeding, is not recommended, since there is still not enough in-depth knowledge about its effect on the developing fetus and newborn.
Patients with diabetes should consider the sucrose and glucose content of the drug. The drug "Falimint" for children under the age of eighteen is not recommended for use, since the experience of its use by this age group is very limited.
